NCH&C and CCS create new NHS Group

This week the formal alignment between Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust (NCH&C) and Cambridgeshire Community Services (CCS) went live with the creation of a new NHS Group.

This is an important development for both Trusts and the first time two high performing organisations have joined up in this way.

The new Group Board executive and non-executives have taken up their roles leading both organisations, and the first Board meeting was held on Tuesday to agree the governance that underpins this.

Matthew Winn, NCH&C and CCS joint Chief Executive Officer, said: NCH&C and CCS have so much in common as organisations, including a laser focus on doing the right thing in working with and supporting our communities. Working together will lead to improved outcomes for local populations.

We also complement each other and have strengths in different areas. Forming a group will make us stronger and more resilient, better able to cope with challenges and continue our focus on the needs of patients and service users. Meanwhile cost efficiencies - such as better buying power - will give both Trusts more funds to spend on care.
