We’re pleased to announce that the NCH&C Norfolk Looked After Children and Young People Health Team was honoured at an awards ceremony on Tuesday 11 February at the Norwich Arts Centre, following the team’s successful application for the ‘Health Stream of Sanctuary’ status, part of the UK City of Sanctuary scheme.

The UK City of Sanctuary is a charity dedicated to fostering a culture of welcome and support for refugees and asylum seekers across the UK. This summer, the team submitted a comprehensive portfolio of evidence showcasing their commitment to being welcoming, inclusive, and supportive. They highlighted efforts in making reasonable adjustments and promoting the health and wellbeing of young people in Local Authority care, including Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children.

Hannah Beardsworth, Clinical Team Lead for the NCH&C Norfolk Looked After Children and Young People Health Team, said: “We are incredibly proud to receive the 'Health Stream of Sanctuary' status. This recognition reflects our unwavering commitment to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for all young people, especially those in Local Authority care and unaccompanied asylum-seeking children. Our team is dedicated to ensuring that every young person feels valued, supported, and empowered to thrive.”
